About

Welcome to Relocate Florence! Dive into the musings and adventures of a British mum of three navigating life in the heart of Florence, a city bursting with Renaissance art, iconic architecture, timeless monuments, and endless inspiration.

The rain lashed against the windows, my toes were frozen, and across from me, a toxic colleague droned on with meaningless chatter. I sat there, uninspired and restless, churning out wills, trusts and lasting powers documents, knowing deep down: something had to change. My daughter was about to switch schools and say goodbye to a lot of her friends, my two eldest sons had already left (now living in London) and my husband working from home. The moment hit me – why not take a leap? Why not move somewhere extraordinary and beautiful and finally start living the life we’d been dreaming about and dsicussing for far too long, without taking action?

And so, we did.

This space is a window into that adventure – a firsthand look at the highs, lows, and everything in between of relocating to one of the most breathtaking and friendly cities in the world, Florence. I’ll share stories of days out and cultural differences and the secrets and tips I’ve learned along the way, all whilst living here full-time and raising my third child who attends school in Florence, and embracing the local life and learning the language.

This isn’t just another travel blog; it’s a glimpse into a life reimagined by this mum of three. I hope you’ll find inspiration, guidance, and maybe even the spark to chase your own adventure. Welcome to our story, let’s explore together.
